Sun Devil gymnastics enthusiastically appreciates your support. Through a wonderful, gracious group of team boosters, we have been able to successfully compete at the highest collegiate level. Head Coach Scott Barclay continues to lead the team in the ever-present quest for excellence and in 1994, and 1998-2004 the team has won the USA National Collegiate Championship team title. Many fine athletes from around the country continue to arrive each year at ASU, all with as much dedication, commitment, and talent as NCAA ranked teams.

The team would like to thank all booster members, fans, and volunteers for their support at continuing the tradition started in 1955. Without all its contributors, this team would not exist! If you are interested in making a donation for the 2007 Men’s gymnastics team, please use the provided DONATION Form.

ASU GYMNASTS WIN 10th NATIONAL TITLE

Claim 4 All Americans

Coach Barclay Awarded “Coach of the Year”

March 28, 2008 Springfield, MA-

The ASU Men’s Gymnastics Team captured its 10th Team title today in the 2008 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships held on the campus of Springfield College. Nine men’s teams qualified for the championship meet- 4 Varsity (NCAA) and 5 Collegiate (Non-funded) teams. Team titles and All Around were awarded separately for both divisions. ASU won the Collegiate division with a season high score of 319.90. ASU was led by All-Arounder, Anthony Naddour of Gilbert who finished 2nd in the All Around and qualified to the individual finals on both Pommel Horse and Still Rings. “The team really pulled out all the stops today,” said ASU coach Scott Barclay. “The pressure of a big meet just didn’t get to the guys today and that’s exactly what we needed. The whole team pulled together and finished the year off as strong as ever. Half way through the competition, we were .7 behind and we had to pick it up. But we kept on plugging and really picked it up on the last 3 events. The veteran All Arounders (Naddour, Baysinger and Saunders) led the charge and Freshmen Josh Bradley showed his competitive drive by earning All American status with the other three and making finals on Vaulting. I was real happy with the way this team came together today. Once again, they out did themselves at the right time- when it counted!” Tomorrow at 7:00pm is the Individual Event Finals with the top 8 individuals on each event qualifying in from today’s meet. ASU qualified individuals on 3 events for tomorrow’s finals.
